Genoa, killed by brother: investigating judge appoints expert who examined Franzoni – Primocanale.it
Elvezio Pirfo, from Turin, 69 years old, is the candidate of the investigating judge Paola Faggioni to evaluate Alberto Scagni’s ability to understand and want, the 42-year-old who stabbed his sister Alice on the evening of May 1st after waiting for her under his home in Genoa Quinto. To ask for the psychiatric report was the same in Genoa with the prosecutor Francesco Pinto and the substitute Paola Crispo who will now evaluate whether to appoint their own consultant.
Pirfo, a renowned psychiatrist, has signed expert reports, including that of Anna Maria Franzoni. The doctor was in fact the head of the women’s section of the Vallette prison at the time of the murder of little Samuele: he visited Franzoni several times and assessed her as capable of understanding and willing.
The defense lawyers of Alberto Scagni, Maurizio Mascia and Elisa Brigandì, have as their consultants Lucrezia Mazzarella and Alfredo Verde, the latter president of the Italian society of Criminology and former president of the psychologists’ association. The hearing was set for next May 31st. Scagni is accused of voluntary murder aggravated by premeditation, torture and the ‘insidious means’, as well as by the family relationship.
