Commemorative plaque dedicated to Admiral Aleardo Maria CINGOLANI
Today, at 11:00 in via Sinistra del Porto, at the quay for the moorings of the naval units of the Harbor Master’s Office – Coast Guard of Rimini, during a short and intense ceremony, a memorial plaque was discovered by Admiral Aleardo Maria CINGOLANI, on the first anniversary of his death, which took place in May 2021. The highly personal initiative desired by the whole family of the Rimini Harbor Master’s Office and welcomed with affection and enthusiasm by the Italian Sailors Association delegation of Rimini, has the placement of a memorial plaque placed in a place from which you can observe the canal port, the mooring point of the units ready to move for rescue at sea and the historic headquarters of the Port Authority, “a perennial memory of the link between Aleardo, the sea, the port, the city, the entire user and the Port Authority “. On the plate is engraved the phrase “a life at sea, the sea for life”, a synthesis of the professional and social commitment of Admiral Aleardo Cingolani. Admiral CINGOLANI, from Rimini, was well known in the city for having held both operational and technical administrative positions in the Harbor Master’s Office. He closes his career in Venice, as Head of Operations, after 40 years of honorable career that have seen him hold positions also in other service offices, in Syracuse, Trieste and in central bodies. The Admiral was well liked in the environment linked to the sea and to all the associations of reference also for the extraordinary passion with which he dedicated himself to any “project” that saw him linked to the sea and to the service to others. He has also held positions of responsibility in civil life within the Naval League, the Local Italian Sailors’ Association, the Porto Council, the Viserba Nautical Club, the Provincial Volunteer “RIMINI RESCUE”, the “VELE AL TERZO ”, and also of the local Scouts – also of the MASCI, adult movement – of the Association“ RICERCHE STORICHE ARIES ”; he was also a member of important associations and associations (“Istituto del Nastro Azzurro” and “National Institute for the Guard of Honor at the Royal Tombs of the Pantheon”, just to name a few).
