Carris Metropolitana announces new timetables for five municipalities on the south bank of Lisbon – Observer

Carris Agentes Metropolitanos take place mainly on Thursdays from the south bank of Lisbon, highlighting those that can be purchased from this fair.

The spaces for the in-person purchase of transport tickets from Carris Metropolitana open to the public this Thursday in the five municipalities of the Lisbon Metropolitan Area (AML), on the south bank of the Tagus, where the new carrier starts operating on Wednesday.

The new schedules for the AML operator were also made available connectedat https://www.carrismetropolitana.pt/, there is also a converter from the current to the new corresponding lines.

In a note, Carris Metropolitana, the brand under which public road transport operations will operate on the AML, it is noted that from this Thursday, Navegante spaces are open in these municipalities, dedicated to the passenger, which operate every day at extended hours. in the municipalities of Alcochete, Moita, Montijo, Palmela and Setúbal, the first area where an operator starts operating on Wednesday, June 1st.

In the municipality of Barreiro, also included in this area, to continue to operate the Public Transport of Barreiro (TCB), as so far.

In addition to loading transport tickets, navigation services provide support to passengers, such as answering questions and other ticketing services.

“Currently, there are pre-loading services56 to navigator and pre-purchased in the municipalities of area 43, agents currently operate by the TST operator, which provided service until now”, writes the new operator, I am currently a dispatcher, “until the end of the year, an increase in the sales network is expected in these municipalities and in the others served by Carris Metropolitana”.

Tickets to travel on the Carris Metropolitana, pre-purchased pass or Navegante, can still be purchased or loaded into ATMs (ATM), Navegante points and AML’s Pagaqui agent network.

Carris Metropolitana is responsible for the municipal road operation in 15 of the 18 municipalities in the Lisbon metropolitan area. In the remaining three — Barreiro, Cascais and Lisbon — they continue to operate as current companies TCB, Carris and Mobi Cascais, but with inter-municipal interfaces.

The new AML transport company will start operating in two phases, the first of which will start on June 1, in the municipalities of Alcochete, Barreiro, Moita, Montijo, Palmela and Setúbal, area 4 of the Carris Metropolitana operation.

This area will have 154 lines, 74 reinforced lines and 30 new ones, a fleet of 230 buses with new numbering and most stops will keep theirs.

A month later, on 1 July, it will start operating in the municipalities corresponding to areas 1 (Amadora, Cascais, Lisbon, Oeiras and Sintra), 2 (Loures, Mafra, Odivelas and Vila Franca de Xira) and 3 (Almada, Seixal, Sesimbra).
