Yellowish Western Hungary, new storms are coming
On Wednesday afternoon, the National Meteorological Service issued second-level alarms due to thunderstorms. There may be severe thunderstorms in the affected areas in the coming hours, which may be accompanied by harmful winds, heavy rainfall and hail. Disaster management asks everyone to keep an eye on the alarms of the meteorological service, if possible not to park under the stormy wind under trees, and on the road to keep an eye on the rows of trees.
According to the alarm sent to MTI, the second level alarm was first issued for several districts of Vas and Zala counties, but during the day second level alarms could be issued in Baranya, Bács-Kiskun, Békés, Csongrád-Csanád, Fejér, Hajdú-Bihar, Jász-Nagykun- To the districts of Szolnok, Pest, Somogy and Tolna counties, as well as to Budapest.
In other parts of the country, a first-degree alarm may be issued due to a thunderstorm hazard.
It was written that thunderstorms were once again expected from the west as a result of a cold front. Heavy thunderstorms can occur mostly in the southern part of the country (in Southern Transdanubia and in the southern and central areas of the Great Plain). Thunderstorms can even be organized into a system. These can be accompanied by severe storms (damaging up to around 100 km / h), hail (even larger pieces of ice) and heavy rainfall.
The thunderstorms, even violent ones, head east in the evening and at night, and thunderstorms in the Great Plain and the northeast can last until Thursday dawn.
Once the thunderstorms have left the country, the dangerous weather phenomenon that meets the criteria on Thursday will no longer die, ”the meteorological service wrote.
Imre Dókaa deputy spokesman for the National Directorate General for Disaster Management (OKF) said that in stormy winds, everyone should pay close attention to trees, rows of trees and scaffolding.
If a storm with a lot of lightning is approaching, you need to retreat somewhere. If you are sitting in a car, close the windows without touching the metal parts. It is recommended to bring any objects around the house that can be picked up by the wind, as these can cause serious injuries.
Imre Dóka drew attention to the fact that current meteorological alarms can also be found on the website of the National Meteorological Service and on the EMERGENCY protection application. If someone sees a broken wire or a person in trouble, call 112 on an emergency call, an OKF deputy spokesman asked.
