Toulouse: the crowd for the opening of a Shein ephemeral store in the city center
From May 25 to 28, the famous fast fashion brand Shein is opening a pop-up store in the streets of Toulouse. A few hours after its opening, the shop was already full of customers.
“Some of them arrived at 8 a.m.,” testifies Julie, 19. She and her four friends have been waiting an hour for the opening of the pop-up store, rue de la pomme, Shein, an online fashion giant. Open until Sunday May 29, the brand’s pop-up store, which is very popular with young people, caused a stir for its arrival in the Pink City. And the seems to succeed at the rendezvous with a compact crowd waiting for the opening of the store. A customer comes out of the store proudly brandishing her Shein bag to the cheers of the crowd, a sign of the current enthusiasm.
A success that warms the spirits
In front of the crowded black sign, the cars pass the trucks with difficulty. A crush that causes some clashes. “There was a fight with the driver of a truck who honked at a girl to pass but she got angry,” testifies Julie, 20, who observes from the sidewalk opposite. To traffic problems, the mobilization of environmental associations also animates the exchanges. Shein, is the brand of ultra fast fashion, always receives new collections at very low prices. The group of four friends say they were insulted by passers-by committed to the climate. “I agree with them but everyone should be free to choose,” says Laureline. It remains to be seen if the ephemeral store attracted so many people during the four days of its opening.
