Russian language in Abkhazia is reliably protected – Ardzinba replied to Kalashnikov
According to the law “On the state language of the Republic of Abkhazia”, all citizens are granted the right to education and education in the Abkhaz and Russian languages, announced by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Abkhazia. Inal Ardzinba May 25th.
To this today, the Chairman of the Committee of the State Duma of Russia on CIS Affairs, the Eurasian Higher Council and Relations with Compatriots Leonid Kalashnikov (KPRF) stated that the law adopted in Abkhazia on the election of deputies “may discredit the Russian language”, as it provides for “mandatory knowledge of the Abkhaz language, as well as toughening the qualifications for the linguistic qualifications of officials.”
According to Inal Ardzinba, the Russian language with the Abkhazian language of communication is the official means of communication in the highest state authorities of the republic. There are also drafts of other legal acts that are submitted for consideration by the People’s Assembly – the parliament, the cabinet office of Abkhazia and other institutions used in the Abkhaz and Russian languages. The current norms allow the distribution of the protection of scientific works in Russian.
“In fact, the Russian language has the status of a second state on the territory of the Republic of Abkhazia. Thus, in the norms of the current legislation of the Republic of Abkhazia, the status of the Russian language is reliably protected, allowing citizens of many countries to freely use the Russian language in all areas of activity,” said the head of the Abkhaz Foreign Ministry.
On May 25, a meeting of deputies of the Parliament of Abkhazia with public colleagues took place in Moscow on the issue of simplifying the crossing of the state border. Following the meeting, Kalashnikov said that the checkpoint across the border between Russia and Abkhazia along the Psou River had been eliminated.
“It was about the transition to Psou, on the border of Abkhazia with the Russian Federation, due to the fact that the problem, which occurs from year to year, is not solved in any way. We agreed to create a group, but with the exception of this particular issue, we raised more serious questions – about eliminating this transition, the restrictions on how it was done in Belarus, ”Kalashnikov told reporters.
Ardzinba, commenting on the issue, noted that we are talking about creating a working group, which is aimed at simplifying the border crossing, and not eliminating the checkpoint.
