In which stores to do bulk classes in Milan?

From food to hygiene and cleaning products, more and more stores are adhering to the philosophy of putting an end to unnecessary packaging. Selection of some of them, to do their courses in a sustainable way, in Milan.

The concept of bulk markets is on the rise, an “intelligent mode” in favor of sustainable development thanks to the reduction of the quantity of waste in its shopping and wastage. And very often producers by obtaining everyday products labeled organic, from locals.

A small neighborhood grocery store that offers fresh, zero-km food products, or organic pasta and cereals. Eggs, vegetables and cheeses, especially from the cascine (farms) contained at the gates of Milan, in the heart of the parco Lambro (cascina Biblioteca) and in Abbiategrasso (cascina Fraschina).

Recently opened in Milan, the small neighborhood store with an old-fashioned look, offers a selection of food products presented in large glass jars (from pasta to organic herbal teas). The selection is completed by solid hygiene products: waterless creams, coffee scrubs, konjac sponges (for washing the skin). We also unearth ecological cleaning products such as reusable paper towels or carbon tubes intended to filter water, as in Japan.

SfusoShop

In glass jars presented on wooden shelves, there are cereals, pasta, seeds and spices, organic products, vegan but also gluten-free. Also essential are hygiene products, such as solid soaps and creams.
Via Losanna 36, ​​Tuesday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Negozio Leggero Milano

With a variety of more than 1,500 products: cereals, vegetables, pastries, fruit juices, detergents, for the body, books, make-up, perfumes… Negozio Leggero Milano, a few meters from Corso Ventidue Marzo, is a spacious and bright place where the customer serves himself directly.
Negozio leggero is also present in several Italian and European cities.

Effect Milano

Effectcorta

Effecorta Milano, gives the atmosphere of an old Milanese grocery store. Fruits and vegetables, dairy products, charcuterie, draft wines, craft beers, beauty and hygiene products… This convenience store offers authentic products from small Italian producers at your fingertips. Some items are sold with packaging, but reusable.
In 2018, Effecorta Milano was awarded the “Bottega dell’anno” (Grocery store of the year) award by the Milano2018 guide.
Via Franco Faccio 11 (Affori district). Open Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., except Monday from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Bioballo

Created by Antonella, Giusi, Fabio, Paolo and Elisa, true nature and health enthusiasts, Biosballo takes up the famous rule of the three Rs: Reduce-Reuse-Recycle. This packaging-free delicatessen also offers recipe and health books, cosmetics and a space dedicated to animals. Note: there are only gluten-free and lactose-free products.
Via Marconi 11, (Sesto San Giovanni). Open Thursday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Enoteca perBacco

byBacco

Open since 2002, perBacco is the first wine merchant to sell bulk wine in Milan. Adriano Franzolin, originally from Veneto, where bulk wine supplies are commonplace, had decided to export the concept to Milan. Red, white and rosé, all sought after from Veneto and Friuli. Note: remember to bring your glass bottle back to restock!
Via Pecchio 4 (Loreto district). Open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Vini al Bottegone

The largest selection of bulk wines in Milan. Opened in 2016 by Alessandro Macchi, this store, entirely colored in red, adopts a philosophy: to obtain supplies from small producers throughout the country, but especially from northern Italy. Red wines, white wines, rosés and even beer, serve yourself directly from the tap.
Via Cuzzi 16. Open Monday 3.30pm-7pm, Tuesday to Saturday 9.30am-12.30pm and 3.30pm-7pm

Essenza of tea

Created in September 2001, this store is the first store in Milan highly specialized in the import and sale of teas and infusions. Essenza del thé presents a selection of 250 natural teas chosen from the greatest gardens in the world: Japan, China, Africa, India, Sri Lanka, Taiwan and even Europe. The store also has accessories and decorative items, all related to the world of tea.
