🇸🇮 Slovenia: We are considering returning to the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2022
This year, Slovenia wants to return to the children’s song of the Eurovision Song Contest in Yerevan, Armenia.
Marusa Kobal, head of the RTVSLO Eurovision delegation, confirmed to ESCPlus that they are considering participating in the 2022 Eurovision children’s song. Ms. Kobal told the agency that:
As soon as we make a final decision on our possible participation in this year’s Junior Eurovision, we will inform you via our social networks.
In recent years, Slovenia has immediately ruled out participating in the competition in the spring. Slovenia debuted at the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest in Malta and finished 3rd at last year’s competition in Sofia, Bulgaria, where Lina Kuduzović performed “First Love”.
Slovenia was one of the three countries that participated in the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest, but withdrew from the competition the following year. The other two countries were San Marino and Montenegro.

Slovenia made its debut at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2014, when Ula Ložar took 12th place with 29 points with the song Nisi sam (Your Light). It was then announced that the representative of Slovenia at the 2015 competition will be selected through the national Mini EMA selection. Lina Kuduzović with the song “First Love” was chosen to participate in the children’s song of Eurovision 2015 in Sofia, Bulgaria. There, with 112 points, she placed third, which is the best Slovenian result in the competition. Nevertheless, the state withdrew from it in 2016.
