Whether it’s a new control platform, the latest cobots with their own ecosystem or solutions for more energy efficiency in drive technology: Yaskawa is presenting under the brand claim “Shaping the future. Consistent. Together.” at the Hannover Messe presents sustainability projects and thus covers the future of consistently sustainable automation in all its thematic breadth.
i³ CONTROL, Plug&Play Cobot and Motoman
With i³ CONTROL, Yaskawa creates a new automation platform. The special feature of this system, which was presented as a concept for the first time: It forms a technically coordinated overall solution for industry-specific controls – from the engineering software to the controller hardware to the integrated chip technology. The new Plug&Play cobot series HC DTP is an adapter flange for cobot installations. Internal media routing options have been adapted to accommodate the many popular cobot tools and grippers in the cobot market. At the same time, Yaskawa is presenting its own “ecosSystem” partner product range: an online network of various peripheral products and complete systems. In addition to Yaskawa’s own products such as drives, linear axes or software packages, peripheral partners can also have their products listened to. A mobile application with Motoman HC20 DTP illustrates the spectrum of new possibilities offered by the new series: The handling cobot is installed on an automated guided vehicle (AGV) from IBG. At the fair, it will be traveling between the stands of the two companies.
Other highlights from Yaskawa
New features extend the ‘Singular Control’ solution, which allows joint control of robots, servo drives, frequency converters and I/Os via a single controller. The new CR700 inverter demonstrates ‘intelligent’ load handling for safer and more efficient crane operations. The company is also showing a new Motoman GP20 handling robot with a slim wrist axis from the European robot factory in Kočcevje (Slovenia). A good example of models tailored to the European market: this save not only CO2 thanks to shorter transport routes, but they can also be delivered quickly thanks to an optimized supply chain.
Implemented sustainability projects
With electric drive solutions based on permanent magnet motors and generators in the marine sector or the equipment of escalator drives in airports and cities, such as in the Munich subway network with regenerative matrix converters, Yaskawa will show energy efficiency projects that are currently being implemented.
