A 38-year-old craftsman, involved in a fatal accident on Friday in Pas-de-Calais, has been indicted for manslaughter and imprisoned, the Arras prosecutor’s office announced on Monday. According to information from The voice of the North, the man driving a van tested positive with 3.39g/l of alcohol in the blood.
This road accident occurred Friday evening near Beugny. A 25-year-old woman from Lebucquière died on the D930, between Bapaume and Cambrai, after colliding with the van. Her dog also died in the accident.

Placed in pre-trial detention
In addition to his blood alcohol level, the man was driving beyond the speed limit. According to the first investigations, he was traveling at 95 km / h, instead of the 80 km / h authorized on the secondary road.
A judicial investigation is in open detention, and the motorist has been placed on temporary leave, “because of the risk of repetition”, according to the Arras prosecution.
