Temporary store in San Marino, the secretary Righi: “This absolute novelty has sparked positive reactions outside the border”

Sugar Mizzy May 24, 2022

The traditional press conference of the State Congress of the Republic of San Marino was held today at Palazzo Pubblico. The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Luca Beccari, and the Secretary of State for Industry, Fabio Righi, spoke for the occasion.

FOREIGN – The state secretary for foreign affairsLuca Beccari, said: “The official entry of San Marino into the Eusair Strategy is an important opportunity to cooperate and work with neighboring countries such as Italy, Slovenia, Montenegro, Croatia, etc. in projects ranging from environmental sustainability through connectivity in transport, through culture, European funds. There is the will, on the part of the European Commission, to conclude the negotiations on the Association Agreement with the European Union by 2023 in a climate of cordiality that takes into account the particularities of small states. In addition, two of our requests were accepted: the first is to identify a busy schedule of meetings, three face-to-face meetings and others remotely already scheduled; the other, on the other hand, is to focus the work on the most important and substantial parts of the acquis communautaire to discuss, therefore, on the macro-themes that then give substance to the Association Agreement. The ministerial of the Council of Europe inevitably focused on the Ukrainian crisis, with the condemnation of the aggression and the search for what could be the possible solutions to end the conflict. There is appreciation, on the part of the Council of Europe, of San Marino for its important role that it is playing for both in terms of welcoming and applying sanctions. Last night in the Council the process of examining the reform of the diplomatic career was started: international relations are increasingly important because opportunities for contact are created on which the government bases its action; having a diplomatic corps governed by rules today is undoubtedly a fundamental element “.

INDUSTRY – The State Secretary for Industry, Fabio Righihe has declared: “We have brought home two bills that give further stimuli to the economy: one on facilitating the start-up of business in a corporate form, while the other on temporary stores. The conditions are in place to fix the formal ‘smudging’ of article 1 of the company law, in fact an agreement on an amendment has emerged. The provision on the temporary store is an absolute novelty that has triggered positive reactions outside the borders and work is already underway to make it immediately operational. Despite the exploitation seen in the press, there are all the conditions to be able to move forward because there are many things, even at a structural level, that the government must take home. There must be a vision, as shared as possible, that goes beyond the legislature because it is the one that guarantees investors who approach the San Marino system and who see San Marino as an opportunity for development. The San Marino system creates interest and this was also verified during ‘Pharmintech’ with some multinationals who asked for information. In a few days, exactly a few on May 26, 2022, there will be the first in-depth webinar in collaboration with the Italian National Standardization Body: it will give San Marino operators the opportunity to participate in the event and highlight the particularities of the San Marino system. As secretariat of state and government, no one wants to go back to the 1990s system of corporate anonymity. San Marino must take into account the important value that the protection of economic data has because it is underestimated in the world and our system, which is highly controlled, can dare to protect the business, without undermining transparency in the slightest “.
