PSG will pay an additional €35m to Monaco for Kylian Mbappé
The soap opera Kylian Mbappé was particularly followed by AS Monaco, which sold the striker for €145 million to Paris-SG on August 31, 2017. At the time, the star already had the choice between Real Madrid and PSG, which ASM had helped to comply with financial fair play. As the Parisian leaders could not allow themselves a transfer as dizzying as that of Neymar, which they had concluded for 222 M € at the beginning of August, the club of the Principality had accepted a loan with an option to buy mandatory, accompanied by a staggered payment and a clause: when the player extends his contract or is transferred, Monaco will receive an additional €35 million.
The total amount of the operation will reach 180 million euros
No one could then imagine that this sum would not be given but this hypothesis has taken on thickness in recent months, because ASM would not have received anything if Mbappé had gone free to Real. He finally extended to Paris but an interview with Nasser al-Khelaïfi on Canal + on Monday cast doubt. “We signed a new player, we didn’t do an extension”, said the Parisian president. Could he therefore avoid paying the €35m? This was not the direction of the communication of his club since Saturday, which reassured Monaco which will not be disappointed because, according to our information, the 35 M€ will indeed be paid and the total amount of the operation will reach 180 M €.
