The Palio delle. Will be held in Amalfi on 3, 4 and 5 June 2022 Ancient Maritime Republics. It will be the seventeenth time that the city of Amalfi hosts the Regatta in a unique setting like that of the splendid setting of the Amalfi coast.
The crew from Genoa is reigning champion having won the last edition.
The four ancient maritime republics, Genoa, Venice, Pisa and Amalfi will give themselves up to the last centimeter. The competing galleons are built on models of the 12th century and painted with the traditional colors of the symbols of the four ancient maritime republics: for Amalfi blue with winged horse (the Amalfi galleon and its figurehead, the winged horse, are also the symbol of this edition); red with eagle for Pisa; white with dragon for Genoa, green with lion for Venice.
The prize, offered up for grabs at each regatta, is a gold and silver trophy made by the Florentine goldsmith school.
