On Tuesday, the oil refining and import company Orlen Lietuva, owned by the Polish oil concern Orlen, replaced the Btings oil terminal, which had been built for 23 years and remained unchanged, and the first tanker is planned to be loaded in mid-June.
According to Kristina Gendvils, the representative of Orlen Lithuania, one of the largest projects in the history of the terminal was launched on Tuesday, and the works will continue for about three weeks.
Around midnight, the wind changed and the old buoy was detached from the anchor chain, and on Tuesday morning the new buoy was attached to one of the anchors, and after the second and second to the anchor chain. There are four more left, a spokesman for BNS said on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the representative of Orlen Lithuania, if the weather conditions allow, it is planned to complete the fastening of the new buoy with chain chains on Wednesday and to start the submarine connection and system adjustment works.

According to her, if the repair of the Maeiki plant is not yet completed, the oil will end up in the Btings tanks of the tanker, but it is not ruled out that it can pump directly to the plant.
The plant will also start operating in the post-repair phases, as its repairs are scheduled to be completed by the end of June, and oil refueling itself is underway, Gendvil said.
According to the representative of Orlen Lithuania, the US company Sofec works on the installation of the latest telemetry, navigation, video surveillance and other equipment in the Baltic Sea.
The overhaul of the Oreik Lithuania refinery at Maeiki began in May. It is typically used every four years, and last held in 2018. the value of the imitation repair is about 80 mln. Euros.
After its completion in 20222024, Orlen Lithuania will implement the largest investment projects since 2006, when the plant acquired Orlen 641 million. The modernization project of the deep-sea oil refining event will be implemented by the United Kingdom company Petrofac.
