INFO LA DEPECHE. 18 thefts near Toulouse: criminals looted underground car parks
In February, at night, individuals forced access to two parking lots of private residences. They multiplied the thefts. Two men, arrested and sentenced in Tarn-et-Garonne, had to explain themselves on 18 thefts and 7 attempts. Despite their denials, they went to prison for 18 months.
CCTV images cannot be discussed, they do not lie, unlike you…” The president of the Toulouse criminal court, Myriam Viargues, is losing patience. Youcef, 19, and Ahmid, 23, are resisting before their judges. Identified after an investigation by the gendarmes of Castanet-Tolosan and their colleagues from the research brigade of the Villefranche-Lauragais company, the two friends deny everything.
They never went to Castanet during the night of February 18 to 19, then that of February 24 to 25. Each time, after having forced access to the parking lot of two residences, dozens of vehicles (25 flights or temporary ) have been degraded. Branded glasses, papers, suitcase with clothes, fryer (!), cash, sweater, mobile phone holder, bank card… A very varied list, a series of “little things” left in cars and stolen. But also attempted theft on several scooters and the theft of a car, a Nissan. It will be their downfall.
On February 25, the duo indeed landed in Castelsarrasin, in Tarn-et-Garonne, where they will go to help themselves on the shelves, neglecting the checkout. The security service then intercepted them. The police took over, looked at the CCTV and saw them arrive at the wheel of the Nissan, stolen a few hours earlier in a parking lot in Castanet. “And inside, different items stolen the same night,” says the president. “This car, I don’t know it. We came by train…”, dares Ahmid.

While the two men, sentenced to 4 months in prison for the Castelsarrasin theft by the Montauban criminal court, waited in prison, the gendarmes of the Villefranche-de-Lauragais company reinforced their investigations. The telephony, in particular, placed the two suspects in Castanet during the two nights when the offenses were linked. Red gloves, found in the stolen car, and a shoe print found in a parking lot correspondent too. “Not us”, repeat the two defendants.
The prosecutor requires 18 months in prison and a ban on residence for these two men born in Morocco. In defense, Mes Sandra Trusi and Alain Andorno try to avoid the worst but the court sent the two friends to detention for 18 months. And both are now banned from French territory for 5 years.
