HN: Czech Radiocommunications costs a data center in Prague for billions

Prague – The Czech Radiocommunications company wants to build a data center for several billion crowns on the outskirts of Prague. The server said today HN.cz, which was confirmed by the company’s sales director Miloš Mastník. According to the server, it will be the largest data center in the Czech Republic. It is scheduled for the end of 2024.
According to the server, the data center will be built on Czech Radio’s own land near Zbraslav in Prague. It will have a capacity of at least 2000 server cabinets, HN.cz writes. The company now has the largest data center under the Žižkov transmitter in Prague and a smaller center in Prague’s Strahov, Pardubice and Ostrava. All these existing centers have a total of over 500 server cabinets.
According to Mastník, the project of the new center is based on the demand of multinational companies that need their servers in the center with the necessary infrastructure and security. “Today, there is simply no such capacity that these companies demand. The second thing is that we see how critical energy optimization is becoming for companies. In the future, centers with higher consumption will be very difficult to offer,” he told HN.cz. According to the server, the company is now selecting a designer for the establishment of the center and wants to start construction at the beginning of 2024 at the latest.
In addition to data centers, Czech Radiocommunications also operates a nationwide network of television and radio transmitters and an optical backbone network. In the financial year 2020/021, the company’s profit also decreased. Revenues are reduced to a percentage limited by about seven 2.25 crowns and profit by 39 percent to 141.5 million. Last year, Cordiant Digital Infrastructure funds bought České Radiokomunikace from Macquarie Asset Management funds. They did not publish the price, but according to analysts’ estimates, it could have reached 20 to 30 billion crowns.
