This Tuesday, a 25-year-old man was sentenced to 5 years in prison by the Annecy criminal court for pimping. The facts were committed in 2020 and 2021, from the prison of Bonneville (Haute-Savoie) where he was then imprisoned.

Three other men, aged 20 to 29, whom the first defendant knew, also compared. The four defendants were initially held for acts of aggravated pimping, sometimes on minor and by a plurality of authors, for three of them in legal recidivism.

“You have totally contradictory statements”compared to those of a young woman who is a major civil party at the trial, noted at the hearing the president of the court Valentine De Montgolfier, addressing the 25-year-old defendant.

“She says you have been managing her prostitution since detention” and, referring to eavesdropping, that “you put your veto on certain customers, you stay in line during the passages, you give instructions on what it must do with the money (…) You also give your opinion on the customers, and advice on how to make a pass.

The investigation made it possible to validate that the password for access to this site for the young woman included her first name attached to that of the defendant. But with each element brought by the president, the defendant contests or says to have forgotten.

He says he met the young adult before being placed in detention in another file. “Over time, I fell in love with her. She was already a prostitute when we met. I had no choice but to accept”.

The young woman had, at the start of the investigation, paid 7,000 euros the sum coming from her prostitution activity carried out under the control of the defendant.

Another defendant, who had had sexual relations with a minor, was also sentenced to two years’ imprisonment, the facts being reclassified as corruption of a minor.

Two other men, including the 25-year-old cousin of the defendant, were acquitted by the court. Prosecutor Océane San Miguel had requested four years in prison with maintenance and a ban on staying in Haute-Savoie for three years against the 25-year-old defendant.
