EXCLUSIVE: Strasbourg ready to let in-demand Ghanaian defender Alexander Djiku leave this summer – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Scores, Results
Strasbourg are preparing for the departure of Ghanaian defender Alexander Djiku during the summer transfer window, reports GHANASoccernet.com exclusively.
The Black Stars centre-back has attracted interest from clubs across Europe and after another impressive campaign it is clear he will leave this summer.
GHANASoccernet.com can reveal that clubs in Spain and France are close to making a move for the 27-year-old.
Djiku was exceptional for the Blue and Whites who finished the French Ligue 1 season in sixth place, missing out on a European spot.
Strasbourg president Marc Keller has confirmed that the Ghanaian keeper could be allowed to leave when the right offer arises.
“For Ludo as for Alex, we are in a waiting position. If they have to leave, they will naturally be replaced. It’s part of the life of a club,” Keller said.
Alexander Djiku has made 30 Ligue 1 appearances this season, scoring one goal for the club as they continue their quest for a European spot.
The French-born Ghanaian played a key role in Ghana’s qualification for the FIFA World Cup at the expense of Nigeria in the qualifiers in March.
He has been linked with moves to Villareal and Sevilla in Spain.
