An ex-Front National dealer will appear in Toulouse for attempted murder of a cocaine-addicted former police officer
On September 27, 2019, Raphaël Goiset, former FN youth leader in the Jura, shot a former Toulouse policeman near the Bouconne forest. The 35-year-old man is left for dead. His alleged attacker who then lived in the Gers will be tried from June 13 to 15 in Toulouse.
The charges against Raphaël Goiset, who will be tried in June in Toulouse, date back to September 27, 2019. That day, the dealer made an appointment with one of his clients, a former police officer accompanied by he wants to recover his debt .
In an isolated car park in the town of Lévignac to the west of Toulouse, Raphaël Goiset made an appointment with William S, now to be his bodyguard during a transaction. This former policeman built like a mirrored wardrobe is one of his clients. Raphaël Goiset has been asking him for a debt of around €1,000 for several months. So he will do everything to get them back.
According to the newspaper Marianne, this former rugby player is a drug addict friend of Goiset, removed from the police and living on the RSA. Quickly, the one-night bodyguard understands that he has fallen into a trap.
Still according to the Marianne newspaper, the 2 men got out of the car. Goiset then takes out his Magnum 357 loaded with five bullets and fires several times at William S. A first bullet hits him from behind and crosses the right shoulder. A second pierces his abdomen, the last his forearm. Two other bullets do not reach it.
Left for dead, William S manages to crawl to the edge of the D24 where a motorist will see him. Plunged into a coma, the man gives the name of his attacker when he wakes up in the hospital. A real miracle, who almost died for a derisory debt: 960€. Unless there are other motives behind it.
A few days after the events, Raphaël Goiset was arrested on October 7 by the GIGN antenna and the Toulouse Research Section at his home in Gimont in the Gers. Indicted, the man is placed in pre-trial detention at the Albi remand center.
The trial of this failed homicide will be judged before the Toulouse Assize Court from June 13 to 15. This while two shooting murders were perpetrated recently by far-right activists including the one of rugby player Federico Aramburú.
In the Jura, Goiset took the FN card and headed its youth section in 2014. The same year, he ran for municipal elections in his city: Clairvaux-les-Lacs. According to the newspaper Le Progrès, the man was given a 6-month suspended prison sentence for acts of violence against his ex-partner in 2017.
Shortly after, he fled the Jura – but not the cocaine – to settle in the Gers and try to forget a bad reputation. He lives in Gimont.
In 2019, he became one of the local figures of the Yellow Vests. On several occasions, he organized actions, took the lead in processions, as here in Toulouse in October, to try to appease disgruntled traders and defend the injured Yellow Vests.
A few months later, there is therefore the appointment near the forest of Bouconne which will leave the former policeman disabled for life.
Before the Toulouse Assize Court, Raphaël Goiset faces 30 years in prison.
