RUSSIA

Alexander Dyukov and the RFU are struggling with the isolation of football in Russia, the opinion of the executive committee

Sugar Mizzy May 24, 2022

Russia itself is pushing itself to the football international. But as long as we hold on

We push ourselves in international football

16 clubs and one adequate solution.

It was clear in advance that the RFU retains 16 clubs in the RPL. We see too many signals when using this solution. RFU Secretary General Alaev said in advance that he was categorically against the expansion. The TV broadcaster threatened to revise the cost of the contract for showing RPL. And already even the general director of Rubin in front of the executive committee of the RFU does not think that it will be possible to expand the league.

The question, most likely, is why Saymanov does not let the team go on vacation – that’s what’s surprising. As of March 23, there was no expected scenario for Rubin to remain in the RPL or participate in the joints. The RFU could not change the regulations the day before the play-offs. Conditional “Khimki” have already bought tickets in Khabarovsk, club analysts reviewed each other’s last matches, fans bought tickets, and posters were posted in cities. And, of course, in the right of the RFU, when they talk about a violation of sports health and undermining confidence in the league if after the end of the championship they don’t fly out, who should.

It’s amazing how tournament clubs from the bottom of the data collection table push their way into the RPL with cabinet decisions. A member of the Khimki Supervisory Board even stated that the Ministry of Sports, not the RFU, should have had the last word. “We are talking about state verification,” said Teryushkov. It is enough to go to the RFU website and see that this is a public organization and the only one in Russia that is recognized by FIFA and UEFA.

And even if most clubs live on money from the regions, the situation does not change. FIFA controls quite tightly so that the government does not interfere in the affairs of football federations. RFU consults with the Ministry of Sports on the limit? admissible. Does the Ministry of Sports independently propose the expansion of the RPL? Unacceptably. Even without the leaders of the Russian Federation, we have become higher systemic people who belong to states.

Another interesting topic that was discussed at the press conference today is the inclusion of Crimean clubs in the RFU. The situation with football in Crimea is sad and unfair. The head of North Ossetia said that Crimean clubs should be accepted into Russian football. They are pushing for this step, as if the RFU has already been removed from FIFA / UEFA.

It so happened historically that football develops in the FIFA/UEFA system. There are pluses and minuses here, but complete isolation will destroy our football. It’s far from the same as going through one season without international matches. And in terms of the timing of the return to world football, and the situation with contracts, the situation is even worse.

Now football in the Crimea is dead. If you include the Crimean clubs in the RFU, then football will die throughout Russia (although yes, the development is already sad). It is symbolic that Crimean clubs are now being talked about, when a number of RPL teams may benefit from the RFU’s withdrawal from FIFA / UEFA. Then the Ministry of Sports will be able to solve all football issues. It is beneficial for some club to die in the RPL.

Do you want our football to become purely social? Talk about Gazprom accusing all teams of funding at once – there too. Let’s all hate the rich together. This is the popular idea. Let’s leave these capitalist clubs to the fools of the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga…

The RFU has something to cut, but keeping 16 teams is the only reasonable solution. Rather, it is possible to present for other things. For example, how the president of the RFU talks about the fact that the club should not play football with a low block in defense. It is clear that Dyukov wants to see a spectacular game, but such questions should be left purely to the coaches. In the end, without playing a low block, we would not have passed the Spaniards at the 2018 World Cup.
