Against unworthy habitats, the Metropolis of Lyon launches a “rental permit” in Saint-Priest
Owners of rental accommodation in Saint-Priest are targeted.
This Monday, the permanent commission of the Métropole de Lyon validated the establishment of a “rental permit” in the Bellevue district of Saint-Priest. A device”intended to fight against unfit housing” according to the community.
The latter intends, within a few months, to have “rental permits” signed to “verify compliance with the decency characteristics of a dwelling and to ensure that it does not affect the safety of the occupants and the healthiness public, as soon as its owner wishes to place it”.
In the area registered in the New National Urban Renewal Program (NPNRU), in the Bellevue district, a rental declaration scheme or a prior authorization scheme for rental must be concluded before the tenants move in.
A new protocol thatconcerns all rental or re-renting of rented accommodation, empty or furnished, on the defined perimeter, with the exception of accommodation rented out by a social housing organization” specifies the Metropolis of Lyon. Renewal, renewal or amendment to the rental contract are also outside the scope.
The purpose of the operation, which will begin on December 19, 2022, is therefore to encourage owners to vote and to carry out the necessary work to improve the quality of the apartments and avoid the deterioration of the building.
More information should soon appear on the website of the town hall of Saint-Priest.
