Toulouse. Cruel outcome for Toulouse Olympique in Huddersfield
cSimonHall/dr

After 80 intense minutes, Toulouse Olympique lost on the lawn of the Giants from Huddersfield, but offers perhaps his best performance of the season.

The first period kicks off with two teams completing their chains of downs and starting a quick tussle. But the Toulouse, determined, opened the scoring in the 7th minute with Lucas ALBERT who hit a low kick well measured at the end of the chain of downs, Olly ASHALL-BOTT flattening in the in-goal. Chris HANKINSON transformed.

The locals are more offensive, forcing the French to defend and forcing a dismissal under the posts, leading Sam HEWITT to the test, which will be transformed by Tui LOLOHEA. The Olympians pull themselves together with a huge rush from Romain NAVARRETE, who pierces the line, accelerates and drops the opposing fullback, to go and score a 50m try which will be converted by Chris HANKINSON.

The Toulouse therefore return to the locker room with a 6-12 advantage. In the second half, Max PUECH’s teammates quickly recovered the ball and thanks to a good kick from Lucas ALBERT and a good hunt, forced a dismissal under the posts.

Winger Matty RUSSELL won’t be long in scoring a try in the 45th. This is followed by a 40/20 from the English which reverses the pressure and forces the Blues and Whites to defend. They crack in the 53rd minute on an achievement by Innes SENIOR which will be transformed by Tui LOLOHEA. Despite the fatigue felt in both camps, the locals will maintain the intensity and in the 73rd, Innes SENIOR met his second try of the evening. LOLOHEA misses the transformation, offering a last hope to the TO who is looking for the drop of victory, but it is unfortunately the Giants who will find it in the 77th minute by Jack COGGER.

A difficult end to the match for the men of Sylvain HOULES who will now seek two consecutive home victories by hosting St Helens on Saturday June 4 (6 p.m.) and Castleford on Sunday June 12 (3.30 p.m.).
