the building of France nature environment covered with manure
New episode in the soap opera of the Bargy ibexes. On the night of Sunday May 22 to Monday May 23, the building of the environmental associations of Annecy, located in the Pré Mairy area in Pringy, was the target of an action of vandalism. Around 1:30 a.m., a farmer dumped liters of manure and slurry on the facade of the building (which houses the Haute-Savoie headquarters of France nature environment, the Conservatory of natural spaces and two companies). Several cars parked nearby were also targeted.
This action probably follows the decision of the administrative court of Grenoble, taken on May 17, to suspend the prefectural decree imposing the indiscriminate slaughter of 170 ibex from Bargy in order to fight against brucellosis. Decision supported by the opinions of environmental associations and which had caused the incomprehension and the anger of the farmers of Savoy, whose cows are also struck by the disease.
“A lack of civility and restraint”
On the spot, Christian Schwoehrer, the director of the Conservatoire, said he was “surprised and surprised” insofar as his association was not involved in the file. “But we share the same premises, so we’re affected too… It’s a regrettable mix. Even if he understands “the farmers’ anger”, he admits that he cannot digest what he considers to be a “lack of restraint and civility”. “Now, he ends, we will have to see how the next few days will go, with the announced heat. See if it’s tenable for our employees. »
The FNE and the FDSEA of Savoie, for their part, have not replied to us for the moment.
As for the perpetrator, he would have been arrested by the gendarmerie to be heard.
