from May 28 the rescue activity starts officially and the activity on the beach goes live

Sugar Mizzy May 23, 2022

The new bathing season is kicking off in Rimini and throughout the Romagna coast. From Saturday 28 May the lifeguard service will come into operation, thus giving the official start to the bathing activity. The rescue assistant, like every year, runs the service every day from 9.30 to 18.30 and can interrupt the service from 13 to 14, giving notice by raising the red flag. The inevitable ‘red fly’, the emergency boat ready for use and bearing the “written”, will therefore be positioned in each bathing establishment from next Saturday. As every year, the service will be guaranteed on all beaches, including free beaches.

Delivery on the beach

From 28 May to 11 September, customers of Rimini’s bathing establishments are guaranteed the opportunity to stay in the bathing establishments until dinner and to use the services at least until 10pm. The excitement and desire to welcome tourists with a beach, all restaurants, workshops to deliver food to order directly on the beach.

‘Open space’ beaches

It will be the first summer in covid time, without a health emergency in force, but the municipal administration, in agreement with the Rimini lifeguards, has decided to re-propose the provisions already provided for last season, also with regard to the large space between umbrellas. As is known, in fact, the 2022 ordinance confirms the minimum distance limit between umbrellas in the same row and between different rows must guarantee a minimum surface area pertaining to each umbrella of not less than 18 square meters, calculated with reference to the table for the northern area. Rimini, while for the southern Rimini area the minimum surface area will be 15 square meters. Also confirmed specific derogation for the stretch between establishments 99 and 130, characterized by a more square strip of beach and a high incidence of hotels and therefore of tourists, where the shading area is set at 12 squares. Parameters that confirm Rimini as a beach able to offer the widest spaces available to people.

Plastic and smoking prohibited

For the purposes of environmental protection, the ban on the sale of drinks in disposable plastic cups and the distribution to customers of both cups and disposable plastic straws is confirmed on the beaches of the Municipality of Rimini. Instead, you can use paper cups and disposable compostable material or plastic material that is dishwasher safe and reusable. The ban on smoking on the shoreline is also confirmed. The chiringuitos activity starts The guidelines for the beach chiringuiti service have been confirmed, but awaiting a possible update in the last few weeks. The first activities of the kiosks on the sea have already begun last weekend in some bathing establishments and the administration and entertainment activities will begin in the next few days in all 20 “chiringuitos” of Rimini. The chiringuitos that have been built in recent years are 17 in Rimini south and 3 in Rimini north. These are kiosks for the sale of food and drinks, introduced on the beaches of Rimini in 2012 and which have increased year by year. They usually consist of large umbrellas or easily movable structures. In the Municipality of Rimini they can carry out the daytime activity of administration from 10 am to midnight. As regards the evening, public shows and musical entertainment can be held in a maximum number of 64 initiatives for the entire season. Show events cannot last beyond the weekly hours 23.30 with the exception of two events which can be held until 1.00 at night.

The season of sports on the beach has begun

Sports and fitness are also back at full capacity: on the beach it is possible to practice individual sports such as rackets, surfing, windsurfing or kitesurfing, but also group activities such as beach volleyball, water aerobics, table football and card tournaments. Open-air gyms, kilometers of cycle paths, wide spaces for walking and practicing any type of sport together and an excellent organization make Rimini a real paradise for those who love outdoor activities. The Nautical Centers located on the shoreline from Miramare to the San Giuliano dock open between the end of May and the beginning of June. In these centers, in addition to the traditional pedal boats and rowing flies, it is possible to rent Sup, paddle surfers, bumpers, and you can also find sailing boats, rafts, catamarans, wind-surfers, wave surfers and jet skis. There are also various opportunities for activities with banana boats, donuts, crazy UFOs, sofas, disco boats, and wake boats. Finally, you can take lessons in sailing, wind-surfing, swimming for children and water aerobics. Here is the list of stations to know where to find them on the beach: starting from Miramare, the nautical centers are located at the level of bathrooms 146, 93, 78, 69, 62, 32, 8 and in the Darsena area. The statement by the mayor, Jamil Sadegholvaad: “Officially summer in Rimini will be on the 28th but reality and record numbers tell us that summer in the city and on the Riviera had a rich ‘aperitif’ at Easter and then counted on a huge influx of tourists and hikers throughout the month of May. So practically there every day and every weekend will be great events and evocative manifestations, from Al Meni, to the show of the Frecce Tricolori (June 18), to the Pink Night and so on. away … we already come with a good run up “.
