Monaco coach Philippe Clément gave an interview to RMC Sport in which he discusses the future of his precious midfielder. The Belgian technician is categorical: Tchouameni will only leave if there is a very big offer. “I spoke with Aurélien, naturally, as with all my players. I know his ideas, they are good. He is ambitious, but he will leave here only if there is a great opportunity at a big club. C “It’s normal. He is very happy to be here. We’ll see in the next few weeks.”
Clément: “We are very motivated to have a team that can prove things next season”
As indicated by RMC Sport on Sunday, Tchouameni, at the end of his contract on June 30, 2024 with Monaco, is giving himself a few days to decide on his next destination. Liverpool and Real Madrid are the two clubs in the running to bring in the midfielder from Monaco, who have agreed with both clubs. The ex-Bordelais will make his choice before the end of the week but, what he already knows, is that he will not go to Paris Saint-Germain, the capital club having once been part of the list of serious suitors.
More generally, Philippe Clément is responsible for the next transfer window of Monaco. “You always have an idea of the squad but that’s never what happens in the end, it’s like that in all clubs. We’ve talked about all the possibilities in recent weeks with Paul Mitchell ( athlete) and the president. Everything is clear for everyone, we are all very motivated to have a team that can prove things next season”, continued the Belgian coach.
