AS Monaco will not be seeded in their third preliminary round of the Champions League

Third in Ligue 1 at the end of the season on Saturday evening, AS Monaco qualified for the third preliminary round of the Champions League. After the end of the Danish and Cypriot championships on Sunday, his potential opponents are known. And it will necessarily be heavy. Indeed, the Principality club will not be seeded.

Unlike last season against Sparta Prague (victories 0-2 and 3-1), AS Monaco will not be seeded in their third preliminary round of the Champions League (outward leg on August 2 or 3, return the 9). She will therefore face a club accustomed to European games.

It could be Benfica (3rd in the Portuguese championship), Glasgow Rangers (2nd in Scotland and finalists in the Europa League), Dynamo kyiv or its winner (the 2nd in the Ukrainian championship will have to pass the 2nd preliminary round against the Turks of Fenerbahçe or to the Cypriots of Larnaca).

The princely club could also find PSV Eindhoven (2nd in the Netherlands) which it had crossed in the group stage of the Europa League this season. He won there in the first leg (1-2) before drawing (0-0) at Louis-II.

If it passes this qualifying round, Monaco will then play a play-off (16-17 and 23-24 August) to access the group stage of the C1.
