Annecy. The former director of the hospital center taken into custody
Nicolas Best, director of Change (Annecy-Genevois hospital center) between January 2015 and December 2018 and current director of the Nîmes hospital, was placed in police custody on Monday May 23 by the Lyon judicial police. This as part of a preliminary investigation into the subject of possible embezzlement while he officiated in Haute-Savoie.
According to our colleagues from Objectif Gard, who revealed the information Nicolas Best was questioned to “provide clarification and justify himself on certain possible irregularities” while he was in charge of the Change.
“A part of the investigation by the National Financial Prosecutor’s Office also concerns investigations within the framework of its Nîmes functions and in particular its relations with two companies working in the design and execution of work in hospitals”, continues Objectif Gard. Companies which worked with the director of the Annecy hospital and which continued to collaborate with the Nîmes hospital when Nicolas Best took over the management.
As a reminder, on February 10, a search took place at his official residence and in his offices at the CHU de Nîmes. At the time, many documents and computer parts had been seized. At the same time, other investigators went to Annecy hospital and to a dwelling owned by Nicolas Best.
