An exhibition devoted to comic book scriptwriter Fred Duval
An exhibition entitled “Fred Duval, journey of a comic book scriptwriter” is being held in the gallery of the Hôtel de Ville, until May 30, 2022. On May 19, the Rouennais received the insignia of knight of the Order of Arts and Letters.
There were a lot of people this Thursday, May 19, at the Hôtel de Ville in Rouen. At the end of the afternoon, relatives of Fred Duval were invited to a ceremony. And not just any, since the Rouen comic book scriptwriter received, from the hands of the publisher Guy Delcourt, the insignia of Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters.
In the gallery on the ground floor of the Hôtel de Ville, and until May 30, boards are on display for the curious. We discover some of the author’s successes: “Travis”, “Hauteville House”… with the comic strip on one side, the text on the other. A way to better understand this very special profession.
This is not the only news of Fred Duval since the author presents these days “Cinq avril”, which he co-signs with Michel Bussi and Monin in the drawing. He also spoke at a symposium organized by Rouen Seine Normandie 2028, on a theme that he knows well and that is close to his heart: “The future begins today”. The event took place within the framework of Rouen’s candidacy for the European Capital of Culture 2028.
