Why does Lisbon need a Municipal Ombudsman? – Observer

Lisbon deserves a figure that accelerates the resolution of problems and that is a facilitating element between the needs of the municipalities and the city government.
Most people and companies dealing with the Lisbon City Council or with some of its companies may experience great difficulties in obtaining an answer.
There are two major factors that justify the existence of this figure in Lisbon.
The first, the Chamber is and should be the body closest to the citizens and it is an incongruity to realize that the people of Lisbon do not know what to do, they have an effective problem with the city government. This error cannot be corrected in societies that are even considered evolved and therefore these failures are seen. The second is the need for greater approximation and ease of communication between citizens and the Lisbon City Council. Only then can there be greater demand and transparency. The combination of these two structural factors of the most part by urban services.
As this is one of the concerns of the Liberal Initiative, we have included in our municipal program the creation of the figure of the Municipal Ombudsman, a theme that was presented and approved at the Municipal Assembly.
We intend with Municipalities to inform, in a clear way, who can address when they do not send answers in a timely manner or pretend to present a complaint and even a complaint for a better functioning of the municipality. The Provider must demand the necessary information as people and must have the capacity to, of all services, as well as necessary to the companies of its services. The Ombudsman will be able to monitor these, and give complaints and problems and problems, with a view to failures and deficiencies, without also making the objective of improving independent services, having as objectives a more efficient independent administration and closer to the citizen.
The figure of the Prova do Munícipe already exists in several other municipalities and, due to the good acceptance of the country and the success that the Chambers have that have opted for the creation to the point of 2019, in May 2019, they have been created to the point of 2019, the 1st national meeting of Municipal Ombudsmen was held. The adhesion of the citizens to this figure is measurable through the number of processes that the entry in the Ombudsman. We are therefore talking about an average of almost 50 cases per week.
We consider it a failure, the capital of the country, which has an Animal Ombudsman, not having someone who, particularly when things go wrong, makes the connection between the different municipal services and its citizens, who are the most element of a city . In fact, this was one of the desires that emerged from the Citizens’ Council.
In one in which the city of Lisbon with other companies competes with the autarky of people and companies, the company is against the autarky of the lives of people and companies, the company is against the autarchy of the lives of people and companies, contrary to those who have autarchy.
Now all that remains is for the Mayor of Lisbon to present this proposal from the Liberal Initiative, or else he will pretend that it is not in order.
