Ukraine offers Poland joint control at all road checkpoints
During the visit of the President of the Republic of Poland Andrzej Duda to Ukraine, the Polish side submitted a proposal to exercise joint control over all road checkpoints.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
As it turns out, the proposal was developed by the Ministry of Infrastructure in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, customs and border services.
According to the information, to date, joint border and customs control is already available at four checkpoints on the Ukrainian-Polish border.
“We offered our Polish colleagues joint control over the Criminal Code. Thanks to the” single window “approach, the creation of a private enterprise and the expectation of a 1.5-fold reduction in what both countries need,” said Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov.
He also expressed hope that the successful experience of this cooperation could be extended to the checkpoint with other EU neighbors. “Our goal is the full liberalization of trucking from the European Union,” he said.
According to him, transport cooperation with Poland in the conditions of Russia’s aggression against Ukraine has become a model of true good neighborliness. “We already have the opportunity to partially liberalize freight transport, in particular, I am grateful to Poland for providing free passage of goods carrying fuel in Ukraine. We are also working to establish a joint railway company to develop export opportunities in the Ukrainian economy,” said Kubrakov.
As reported, Polish President Andrzej Duda is on a visit to Ukraine on Sunday.
