Red Bull Salzburg is about to make the next mega transfer – football
Salzburg – Sunday, May 22, 2022, 8:17 p.m
After Karim Adeyemi, FC Red Bull Salzburg is planning the next mega transfer! Leeds United are said to be close to signing Brenden Aaronson.
According to information from MLS insider Tom Bogert, the deal could go ahead soon as the Jesse Marsch squad secure relegation in the Premier League with a 2-1 win against Brentford.
According to Bogert, if Leeds had gone down, the transfer would have fallen through; Aaronson really wants to go to the “Whites”, but a transfer would only be possible if the league is now fixed. Leeds showed keen interest in the attacking midfielder last winter.
Will it flush 30 million euros into Salzburg’s coffers again?
The transfer fee for the 21-year-old American is said to be around 30 million dollars (28.4 million euros) – Leeds is the only club that is willing to pay this sum. However, ex-club Philadelphia Union should also record a few million euros due to a resale participation.
Aaronson joined Salzburg from Philadelphia Union in January 2021 for €5.45m and has since played 46 Bundesliga games for the Bulls, scoring nine goals and providing 10 assists.
But the long-distance runner has also gained experience on the international stage. He has provided two assists in eight Champions League games. In the two qualifying games it was two goals and one assist.
