International dog show, near Toulouse: 1400 dogs in front of the public
The international dog show which continues today Sunday in Balma brings together a total of nearly 1,400 purebred dogs. An event programmed for the first time on the facilities of the Latécoère sports complex. Between Avenue de la Plaine and the Hers stream, the site benefits from a green setting perfectly suited to the event.
An international champion
The dogs most faithful to the codes of their breed may have their certificate of aptitude for compliance with the standard (CACS). In addition to recognition, this title also testifies to the quality of a breeder in the selection of his dogs. For the owner, it is also the gateway to the various French and world beauty contests. “Besides, the jury will include national and international judges”, announces Patrick Métailié, president of the territorial canine association of Haute-Garonne, organizer of the event. He adds: “During the exhibition, an international champion title will also be awarded”. A competition articulated around eleven categories (see box).
Two exhibitions per year
Even if it dresses many experts, the exhibition remains open to laymen, simply guided by the beauty of the dogs. The organizers also offer to attend several demonstrations of canine activities. An exhibition which should have a follow-up, according to Patrick Métailié: “Eventually, we plan to organize an international exhibition and a second, national, each year in Balma. In addition, pedigree dog confirmations already take place every two months in the Compas room, still in Balma”.
