After two months of absence, it’s time for the best of the Exterioo Cycling Cup. The Antwerp Port Epic is the first, but certainly not the least. With 28 kilometers of cobblestones and 36 kilometers of unpaved roads, it is one of the most interesting 1.1 courses of the year. Follow it here CyclingFlash†
Via Beveren, Kieldrecht and Stabroek the riders will meet the first important obstacle after 55 kilometers. The cobblestones of the Torenseweg (1080 metres) followed by the unpaved Opstalpolder (1810 metres) will be central to the ride and will pass no fewer than six times. The second important and often repeated passage is the Zone De Leeuwendrecht and Zandvliet, consisting of 2405 meters of unpaved and consisting of 1280, 1525 and 1325 meters of cobblestones.
We return to this zone three times in total, the last time between forty and thirty kilometers from the end. It is therefore expected that the field of participants will be completely separated here and in the Torenseweg and Opstalpolder zone. That has also been the case in recent years. If all that unpaved and cobblestone work is not enough, there is also an unpaved zone in the Ekerse Putten in the last ten kilometers.
1100 meters unpaved and 465 meters is all the rest, they have won by the port of Antwerp finish place at the Schengenplein. There the riders will arrive not far from the iconic Port House, where they also started. The start is at 12.30 pm, the finish between 4.40 pm and 5.04 pm. Both Sporza on one and the Eurosport player will be there live from 3.15 pm.
