Xpeng P5 and G3i: Opens new store in Norway

Sugar Mizzy May 21, 2022

Xpeng has been on the market in Norway for some time already. But now the investment in the Chinese electric car brand is intensifying. They started with the G3 crossover – and then followed up with the P7 sedan and the special model P7 Wing Edition.

Now they continue to make new models – and the opening of what is called a flagship store in Bjørvika, in central Oslo.

The new cars were unveiled during the opening of the new store and are called G3i and P5. The former is a renewal of the G3 – while the P5 is a completely new model.

465 kilometers range

P5 is the company’s first model to be made available in four European markets – Norway, Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands.

It is a medium-sized family sedan, equipped with Xpeng’s proprietary driver assistance system, Xpilot 2.5, and the intelligent operating system Xmart OS.

The car can be updated wirelessly throughout its life. It has a slim, aerodynamic profile and a large panoramic glass roof. The range is up to 465 kilometers measured according to WLTP, and it has a battery of 66 kWt.

– The launch of P5 is proof of our commitment in Norway and Europe. It brings a number of functions to a new customer base in Europe, a mark where we build up as a long-term player, says CEO Claes Persson in Xpeng Motors Norway.

New car brand: Norway gets the world’s first store

This is what the new Xpeng G3i looks like.

Screens

With the Xmart OS operating system, you can control all functions in the cockpit, and there is a 12.3-inch LCD dashboard in addition to a 15.6-inch FHD high-resolution center screen.

The voice control in the car is able to distinguish between driver and passenger positions.

The P5 comes with heated leather seats, the Xfreebreath intelligent air purification system, noise reduction technology and an advanced surround sound system.

The newcomer has 26 storage compartments and a 450 liter luggage compartment, with access to another 70 liters under a lid.

The new models are still only available for test driving at the new store at Bjørvika in Oslo.

Opened for ordering

The G3i has received a careful design adjustment and will be available in a new coral green color. It also gets a number of new features to enhance the customer’s mobility experience, including the Emergency Lane Keeping (ELK) and Lane Keep Assist (LKA) technologies.

It is open for ordering both P5 and G3i. The latter can be delivered immediately in a limited number.

Airplane or limousine? Yes thank you – both!

Advanced voice control

Both the P5 and G3i offer infotainment and access to important information via Xmart OS on its 15.6-inch central control screen and 12.3-inch digital dashboard. A number of applications are available in the app library, including Spotify, DAB radio, smart navigation and additional camera apps.

In addition, the “Hey Xpeng” voice assistant provides a new way to communicate with the car.

The voice assistant is activated to detect which set a command is coming from, and can perform a variety of tasks, including opening and closing individual windows, adjusting the climate in the car, changing driving mode and much more.
