The rugby players of Szeged wrote history
The rugby team of Fit World Gorillas from Szeged won the championship for the first time, defeating the 15-time gold medalist Esztergom Vitézek at the Budapest Rugby Center by 32-19 in the final of the series on Saturday.
The people of Szeged, who made it to the first finals, enforced their will and built on the players of Esztergom, who were taken into account in three-quarters of the national team, based on the crowds of the national team. The final result is reduced by the fact that the people of Esztergom were at a disadvantage in the middle of the first and second half, which Szeged punished with a goal both times within two minutes.
In the bronze match, the Battai Bulldogs confidently overtook Budapest Exiles with a fluctuating performance: in the clash, the score was 19-14 after 19-0, and then the end was 48-19.
In the regular season, the last-placed DEAC Hussars and the second division champion, the Conquerors, played a qualifying match for NB I membership, the latter dragging themselves to 17-0 at the end of the first half and finally fighting the promotion.
