Schwabing-Freimann: Rollover on the Autobahn
On the A9 in the direction of Munich, there was a rear-end collision with two slightly injured people.
The driver of a BMW broke down, pulled over to the right-hand side of the road and pressed the emergency call button in his vehicle. The eCall center contacted by this told him to leave the vehicle and wait behind the crash barrier. After following this advice, a Kia hit the ambulance from behind, overturned and came to rest across all three lanes.
The emergency vehicles were able to quickly get to the scene of the accident through the rescue lane that had been formed. When they arrived, the couple had already exited the vehicle, which was lying on its roof, with the help of first responders.
The rescue service personnel treated the two slightly injured people and then transported them to a Munich clinic.
The fire brigade set the Kia back up, picked up fuel and cleaned the road. One lane was reopened after just 20 minutes. After another hour, both cars involved in the accident were removed and the blockage was completely lifted.
The BMW driver remained unharmed by staying behind the crash barrier. Both vehicles were totaled.
