Luxembourg needs new police officers. In order to promote the recruitment of new officers in the future, an information session was organized at the police school in Luxembourg on Saturday. The opportunity for the 250 people designated to “find out about the recruitment procedure and training at the police academy and to have an overview of the different possible specializations”, writes the police in a press release sent at the beginning of evening.
“Police officers from different units and services were present to inform the participants at several thematic stands on their respective jobs, for example with a police officer from a police station, an investigator with the judicial police service, with a police officer from the airport police, biker with the various road police units or even dog handler with the canine group service”, details the Grand Ducal police, specifying that the competition tests will take place next fall.
The recruitment of new agents is an important political issue in Luxembourg, meeting the needs in this area. “A massive recruitment plan” has been put in place with 200 new police officers trained each year, explained recently by the Minister of Homeland Security Henri Kox. “The objective is to increase the quota by 600 in 2027, in addition to filling retirements,” said the Minister.
