A demonstration against Monsanto in Toulouse

Several environmental associations meet at Place du Capitole this Saturday, May 21 at 11 a.m.. They organize for the occasion a march against the giant Monsanto-Bayer and agro-chemicals. “At a time when scandals and legal proceedings are accumulating (agent orange, chlordecone, glyphosate, etc.), we want to express our rejection of the toxic world of Monsanto”, explain the organizers of the event in a press release.

In particular, they wish to defend biodiversity, agro-ecology and peasant farming, healthy food accessible to all. The organizing team of the march notes: “the five-year period that is ending has been one of renunciation: no ban on glyphosate, re-authorization of neonicotinoid insecticides, failures of ecophyto plans, insufficient support for organic farming, new catastrophic CAP …”.

A “Happening die” for the Pradettes urban farm project in Toulouse

On the side of Pradettes urban farm project in ToulouseINATURAL association organize a “Happening die” at 11 a.m. this Sunday, May 22. This demonstration comes after the negative response of elected officials. The association explains that “the elected officials met on April 8 had not read the file that had been sent to them 2 weeks earlier”.

According to the association, five elected officials spoke negatively about the project. The volunteers of NATURES did not appreciate the letter rejecting the elected officials: “the letter rejecting the elected officials dated April 14 includes a series of ‘pseudo-arguments’, deduced without consistency, based on untruths and which were obviously put forward in the only but of refusing a project carried out by inhabitants concerned with the “common good””.

This Sunday, members of Ecological Collectives such as Alternatiba, Extinction Rébellion will accompany members of the NATURES association Together, they will denounce their differences with the town hall: “the action, non-violent but undeclared, will start at 11 am sharp”.
