Manuel Valls campaigning with the French community in Portugal until the 27th
In a journey that will last a week, the candidate for the quasi-legislative by the party of the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, for the French community in Portugal will reach the end of the day today, having a public agenda in Lisbon and Cascais on Sunday with visits to French people and a public meeting in a hotel in Cascais.
On Monday, the candidate will be in Porto and Braga, where he will participate in an Employment Forum, having lunch with French residents. Later, Manuel Valls will meet with the mayor of Braga, Ricardo Rio, and there will be no public meeting at the end of the Porto day.
On Tuesday, the former leader of the French Government will be at the restaurant “Le comptoir parisien”, in Belém. The very next day, the candidate heads south, with a public meeting in Tavira and another in Portimão. On the eve of his departure, Manuel Valls will pass through Setúbal, followed by a meeting with the Mayor of Lisbon, Carlos Moedas.
The fifth constituency of French people living outside France covers Portugal, Spain, Monaco and Andorra and this is especially disputed since Stéphane Vojetta, the outgoing deputy from the President’s party, or República em Marcha, which is now called Renaissance, does not accept the name of Manuel Valls and will run against the former prime minister.
Stéphane was the alternate candidate in 2017 and when deputy Samantha Cazbonne took over as senator in 2021, he took the seat in the Assembly of the Republic. The República em Marcha expelled by entertaining Vojetta.
This is Manuel Valls’ return to French politics after 2018 he lost his deputy seat to run for cities in Barcelona, which would end.
The first time that the party supports the party, the first time that Valls is in the running in the elections of 201 and that it has abandoned the Socialist Party since the first support of the party, the first time that Valls refers to the party, the first time that Valls is in the running of the Republic in March, party of Emmanuel Macron.
Legislative laws in France run on the 12th and 19th of June.
