Genoa, the race of the “distinguished gentlemen” is back: on vintage motorcycles for medical research
The “Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride” parade is a charity event that every year sees motorcyclists all over the world engaged in a race that is actually a race of solidarity and elegance.
Genoa – The “race” of distinguished gentlemen and ladies is back to help the search against prostate cancer and senile dementia. Tomorrow, Sunday 22 May, two hundred centaurs will wear their best clothes and return to the saddle for a good cause by participating in the parade of the “Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride”, a charity event that every year sees motorcyclists engaged all over the world in a race that is actually a competition of solidarity and elegance.
Participants for the occasion must show off elegant clothes, possibly vintage, for gentlemen mustaches and beards are particularly welcome. The look must be inspired by the fifties and sixties as well as the motorcycles, wasps and lambrettas that will be the protagonists.
The Genoese Ride begins with the appointment at 9.30 in via Diaz (Caravelle side in Piazza della Vittoria) and departure at 10.30. The motorbike parade will go east and then return to the center and parade in via XX Settembre to arrive at about 11.30 in piazza Colombo where together with Civ Colombo / Galata and Confcommercio, the Cafe Racer Genova club has organized a big party in base of music, drink & food and many many engines. The motorbikes will be able to park in piazza Colombo – closed to cars for the occasion – and all along via Galata.
In Italy the cities taking part in the event there are 48, but in the world there are more than 700 with over 100 thousand motorcyclists engaged in a collection that in ten years has exceeded 31 million dollars. In Genoa, since 2014, the Cafe Racer Genoa has been organizing the event, which this year aims to reach 5,000 harvests to exceed what was collected in the last edition, that of 2019 without restrictions at Covid.

We expect to reach three hundred participants. Registrations will remain open until the morning of the event, although we invite everyone to register for and donate.
