KRAKOW

WE design Krakow, which is a comfortable and magnetic city, or maybe just a few cities in one? [Kwadratura kuli]

Sugar Mizzy May 20, 2022

Zbigniew Bartuś

It does not make God laugh as much as our plans. But there are some plans to have. For example, urgent – there is a plan for the development of Krakow, one of the most dynamically developing cities in Europe. In this city we wanted to lay off yesterday (with no children to choose from), today we want / have to introduce new schools (from the “excess” of these children). The same with apartments: a year ago, I heard from veterans of the real estate market that “prices will fall at any moment”, as after the 2008 crisis, because “we have a lot of vacancy after the victims of covid”, and the addition “by mass remote work, the rental of premises will not return to the state before the plague. ” Quoting the arch-Kraków bard: “But it was already there and I did not come back”. So we need a new plan. A common idea for Krakow.

It has always been that way. Probably few inhabitants, one inhabitant realizes that the proud city of Krakow by many square numbers is less than 1 (in words) kilometer. It was like that until the 15th century. One square kilometer performed by 327 times less than Krakow is currently operating.

Until the end of the nineteenth century, the entire splendor of the Royal Capital City spread over less than 7 square kilometers. When at the dawn of the twentieth century they supplied new, modern waterworks, supplying water to the city of only 80,000 people (moreover, a liter of tap water was repeated daily). Just before and during World War I, Krakow absorbed the neighboring villages and the city of Podgórze and grew to a whole 47 square kilometers; it was then from Warsaw, measuring a paltry 33 square kilometers. The first census of independent Poland from 1921 showed that 183,000 people lived near Wawel. people. On the eve of the outbreak of World War II, it was already 259,000. During that Krakow war, five years after the civil cascades, which now have 343,000.

Soon after – it is known – Nowa Huta grew to be “anti-Krakow” (read: working class in opposition to all those subversive intellectuals); a quarter of a century later, in the era of Solidarity, it became arch-Kraków. Along the way, Krakow, another historical records – 600,000 in 1972 and 700,000. in 1979. Today you have 327 square kilometers and it has … Well new – now about 780 thousand. people, the aleleptic sociological and tram observations reserved for some time suggested rather a million, and after February 23, this number was probably up to 1.2 million. 80 thousand people, and today the readings from water meters give the possibility that this population is a surface made FIFTEEN TIMES larger. In fact, it grows bigger during the day! It is enough to teach how many people daily commute to work, university, school offices from all directions – and this is just an obwarzanek, but also Oświęcim, Tarnów, Limanowa, Nowy Sącz.

It is impossible for public schools that our metropolis urgently needs a whole lot of large apartments, facilities, institutions, kindergartens, roads, utilities, efficient transport. Apparently such things, but already, especially after February 23, sales are not enough. We got to know a lot. residents. But we need five New Cities. I would like everything to be co-developed and new in new products, new in new products, limitless, functional, functional with a magnetic historic substance and recognizable in the world that we absolutely want. We have called ourselves dreams yet, thanks to which we have created everything we have created, we have improved our climate – and the condition of our wallets; fuel and energy crisis that and at the same acceleration, so we MUST work. Not tomorrow. Today.

From our organization. On stage installations, they reported 14.4 thousand to him. 143.5 thous. postulates. But that was in 2018 and early 2019; The project, developed, developed by the consultancy office, is to be ready in companies that are this year, then – in technical solutions. Time is repeated, dynamic is repeated, but – I am repeating a plan that is not very repeatable. Joint Plan. This is what Krakow will be like and we will leave this to our grandchildren, who we will design for ourselves. Let each one for himself to heart.
