Anti-war conference: about Putin’s fiasco in Ukraine and “good Russians” | Russia and Russians: a view from Europe | DV

Sugar Mizzy May 20, 2022

“We do not know exactly when the Putin regime will collapse, but this, obviously, has ceased to be a matter of the distant future. Kasparov opened the II Anti-War Conference, which took place on May 20 in Vilnius. Representatives of political emigration and European experts spoke at the event, organized by the Free Russia Forum.

Despite the economic crisis, the Russian Federation will have enough to wage war

The participants of the Anti-War Conference are sure that Vladimir Putin has already suffered a military fiasco in Ukraine. Speaking about the crimes and socio-economic consequences of the war on the electoral panel, Vladislav Inozemtsev, an economist and director of the Center for Post-Industrial Society Studies, said that the fiasco took place because the scale of the Putin elite’s expectations in connection with the war is sharply discordant with what is happening now.

“The sanctions turned out to be much stronger than expected. A fall in GDP, a decline in living standards, an industrial failure – after such an economy it will not recover, there are no economic prerequisites for this,” Inozemtsev said. At the same time, he arrested the Russian conference, but not the Russian regime. “The economy will fall, but the political situation remains under control,” says Inozemtsev.

Russian economist Dmitry Nekrasov, continuing the theme, said that despite the fact that the population is falling, the potential of the budget is increasing: But it is possible that the crisis, as it will affect Russia’s ability to wage war in Ukraine, the ugliness of the danger to physical restrictions.

“Russia will not produce more missiles than it can. , – says Nekrasov.

Tomorrow’s Russia depends on Putin’s shutdown in Ukraine

In addition, the thesis was raised for discussion that the war in Ukraine dispelled myths about Russia. “The collapse of the colossal myth about Russian military capabilities has approached our eyes,” said Vladimir Inozemtsev.

Professor of the Free University, lawyer Elena Lukyanova also spoke about the disappearance of Russia: “On the 85th day of the war, we see not only the military fiasco of Russia, but also the debunking of the myth of the “Russian world”. This “Russian world” is evil and danger, and we It will take a long time to make excuses for him.” Lukyanova also linked the future of Russia with the outcome of the war in Ukraine. “Tomorrow’s world and tomorrow’s Russia depends on whether Russia suffers a defeat. And we must do everything to make it happen,” the lawyer believes.

Historian Yuri Felshtinsky noted that Russia’s problem is more complex than Putin’s. In his opinion, power in the country is seized by the state security as a department, and if there are no conditions under which it will be defeated, nothing will change: “We have no other choice but the suspicious Putin regime at the military level. situation, saving everyone and ourselves from possible catastrophes – this is the implementation of the military defeat of Russia in Ukraine.”

Actions of the Russian Committee for the Association of “Good Russians”

The conference also presented a plan of action for the global democratic movement. In the opinion of the representatives who meet with the Russians, who are against aggression and do not meet representatives of the representation, this is a function that should be taken on by the Russian Committee. In order not to have negative consequences, Russian citizens must write anti-war declarationthus explaining that they are “good, European Russians.”

“This initiative is for people who feel they should stand up for their position on the war, openly and publicly. In addition, the Russian Housing Committee affects the interests of Russians, who are currently in trouble in Europe and may be limited in the form of the inability to withdraw money, open a bank account or access any services.

As the politician and deputy of the State Duma of the VI convocation Dmitry Gudkov said, there is an idea to create a subscription based on the association of a virtual community that would unite the passports of “good Russians” who lose the declaration and issue original cards or alternative cards. “We need to make a high-tech product that would be in a disease in services like Airbnb. texture services”.

Entrepreneur Yevgeny Chichvarkin believes that with the help of this initiative, the opposition has a chance to do something good for the Russians: “If it works, and this card or passport of a “good Russian” will work in at least one country, then other countries will pick up this idea ., it makes life easier for the Russians.”

Russia must get rid of the imperial curse

An important topic at the Anti-War Conference was the discussion of the vision of Russia’s future after the war. During a discussion with Lithuanian statesman Vytautas Landsbergis, oppositionist Garry Kasparov only stated that the military had beaten Putin in Ukraine to inevitable change in Russia. “We have a historic chance to change our destiny. But until the imperial matrix is removed from Russian society, there will be no chance. Russia can be reborn in a new capacity only if it rejects this imperial curse,” Kasparov said.

In turn, Vytautas Landsbergis specified that he has no doubt that Russia will lose this war, but he hopes that failure in the war – common sense in the country – is too optimistic. “They will blame everyone around: both America and Ukrainians – this is a corrupted inhuman cannibalistic consciousness. Professor and professor Kasparov said that he was going to offer the Russians a program for the future of Russia.

Kasparov replied that in order to discuss the future, it is necessary to carry out de-Putinization, de-KGBization, etc. in Russia, because before the field is sown, it needs to be cleared. “The next programming setting is a preference for an imperial ban.
