Japan will provide $ 300 million in additional financial assistance to Ukraine. The country wants to help Ukrainians overcome the economic crisis caused by Russia’s full-scale invasion. This statement was quoted by Prime Minister Fumio Kisidi Kyodoreported the publication “Left Bank”.

“We have received a request for short-term financial support from the Ukrainian side, in connection with the economic stage of formation due to the Russian invasion”– Responsible Head of the Government of Japan.

Kisidadav intends to change Japan’s plan for further aid to Ukraine when it meets with US President Joe Biden and hosts a Quad group the next day, which also includes Australia and India.

He added that as a member of the Group of Seven (G7) and part of the international community, Japan must respond to such needs. By the way, today and tomorrow’s financial leaders of the G7 countries, which, in addition to Japan, also join the United Kingdom, Canada, the United States, France, Germany and Italy, are discussing further support for Ukraine. They will focus on financing budget expenditures on salaries.

It should be noted that in April, Kishida announced that Japan would increase loans in Ukraine to $ 300 million. His desire for new financial assistance to increase the total to $ 600 million.

Of the initial 300 million, Japan on Monday signed a loan agreement with Ukraine for 13 billion yen – $ 100 million.
