In the past four years, Jantina and de Joris have held. Thanks in part to her openness, Alzheimer’s disease has become more open to discussion. Gerard died when the presenter found her for the special. “I don’t want to go overboard, but it happens anyway,” says Jantina.

Gerard was and is her great love. When Joris then asks how Gerard was doing after the shooting at Schiphol, she explains that it was impossible to keep at home. “It was so tiring. So he went to a nursing home.” Although she is a huge fog every day, Jantina is convinced to see him again. “I’m waiting for him.
