Salzburg – Thursday, May 19, 2022, 7:31 p.m
Red Bull Salzburg and central defender Jasper van der Werff finally go their separate ways.
The Swiss player, who was previously on loan at SC Paderborn, will switch to the German second division team at the start of the new season. The Salzburg announced on Thursday.
Van der Werff, now 23 years old, switched from FC St. Gallen to Salzburg in 2018 for a reported 800,000 euros, but never made a lasting impression on the “bulls”. From January 2020, the central defender was loaned out to FC Basel for a year and a half, where he played 43 games. This was immediately followed by a loan to Paderborn.
His contract in Salzburg would have run until May 31, 2023.
