On Thursday (May 19) around 2 p.m., the police received several emergency calls that two people – initially children were mentioned – were supposed to be driving scooters on the motorway in the Neubiberg area.
Neubiberg/A8 towards Salzburg – A patrol from the Holzkirchen motorway police immediately set off to defuse this initially very dangerous-sounding situation as quickly as possible. However, initially no persons could be found in the described area. However, another road user reported to the police in the meantime and stated that collected two ladies on the highway – supposedly foreign holidaymakers – to have and wait with them at a nearby supermarket parking lot.
There, the situation was finally cleared up by the police patrol: It was actually two young ladies from Bulgaria who are currently on vacation here and going on a trip with their e-scooters. They blindly relied on the navigation app on their cell phones – and that probably led them straight onto the freeway. Since they didn’t know the area any better, they continued on their way there – obviously they were not aware of the dangers.
Fortunately, the two young ladies were brought to safety by the attentive road user. The vacationers showed their remorse to the police officers who were deployed and, after being informed about the dangers on the motorway for non-motorized road users, promised never to do this again.
So everyone could accidentally go their separate ways unharmed.
