Monaco: Mitchell noose five reinforcements
Paul Mitchell preferred to recruit four or five elements during the summer transfer window. The sporting director of Monaco wants to put on stability.
In today’s edition, The Team evokes the summer transfer window of AS Monaco. Like many of its competitors, the principality club is already thinking hard about its recruitment. Paul Mitchell, his sporting director, would estimate the needs of his team at four or five players. The priority positions will be those of the defensive midfielder, winger and attacker. Some signatures will compensate for several departures which should take place in the coming weeks.
Two elements were to leave the club at the end of their contract: Cesc Fabregas and Djibril Sidibé. The Spaniard has had several physical glitches this season and has only played 6 games in all competitions. As for the second, he took part in 26 games, many of which as a substitute. The native of Troyes also accumulated several injuries. The leaders also had to experience difficulties in keeping Aurélien Tchouaméni, who is panicking the biggest European clubs. Benoît Badiashile is also of interest to several teams, including Juventus in Turin. The daily finally specifies that Alexander Nübel should stay an additional year on the Rock. The German goalkeeper, who is on loan from Bayern Munich, has participated in 48 games in all competitions. And if it has sometimes been irregular, it has also weighed on the good results obtained by the Monegasques in recent weeks.
On the arrivals side, Monaco would be eyeing Anthony Martial, who was trained at La Turbie. But the French international seems to favor a permanent transfer to Sevilla FC, where he has been on loan since this winter. ASM has also been cited on the tracks of Issa Diop (West Ham) and Odion Ighalo (Al-Hilal). However, no information has yet filtered through advanced discussions. Monaco is in the race for qualification for the Champions League and its leaders seem to be taking their time to finalize the signatures. Obtaining the 2and position could change a lot of things…
Paul Mitchell and his team were already working on the recruitment of AS Monaco. 3 positions would be targeted as a priority: defensive midfielder, winger and striker. The podium would be the minimum objective next season and 4 or 5 recruits would be expected for this summer.
