Klagenfurt will give loan keeper Moser a nice farewell
No easy task awaits Austria Klagenfurt in the last game of the current season. With an away game in Salzburg, the promoted team ended a successful first year in the Bundesliga and will give his second keeper Lennart Moser a nice farewell from Austria.

Even if in the end it was only enough for the last place in the championship group for Austria Klagenfurt, the promoted team can look back on a strong first year in the Austrian Oberhaus. On the last day of the game, however, they were dealt the toughest draw with champions Red Bull Salzburg, but it was a nice end to the season. As in the 2-1 defeat against Vienna’s Austria, Lennart Moser will look after the case there, returning to his regular club 1. FC Union Berlin after 18 months in the Klagenfurt outfit. “It was clear to me that he would play the last two games. Regardless of what it would be about for us. We could have played for the championship there,” explains head coach Peter Pacult at the “club page”.
Champions Group – Matchday 32
Moser, who moved to Klagenfurt on loan in January 2021, was actually supposed to take over the position of first-choice goalkeeper, but injured his hand badly after two matchdays and has not been able to get past Philip Menzel since then. That’s why Pacult wants to offer his number two a big stage to say goodbye: “He simply deserves it. He was number one, lost this position due to a serious injury and during this time Phillip presented himself and developed so strongly that that there was no way around him. Lennart never let anything come his way. On the contrary, he trained very well, always behaved professionally and supported his colleagues.”
“Go on holiday with a sensible feeling”
In the current season, Moser has stood in for regular keeper Menzel three times when he represented the number one in Klagenfurt for the last 50 minutes due to a red card in the championship game against WSG Tirol at the end of August. In the next game against Sturm Graz (1-2) and again in February against bottom team Altach (2-0), the 22-year-old is one of head coach Pacult’s first eleven.
All in all, Moser has only played nine competitive games for Klagenfurt so far, in which he has not conceded three times. That should also be the case against Salzburg this time, as Pacult says: “Now I hope that he keeps us a clean sheet in the Red Bull Arena” and adds with a smile: “Then we’ll win 1-0.” Moser is also happy after his appearance against Austria (“It was nice to play again and I’m glad that I was able to say goodbye to the fans in this way”) already looking forward to the duel with the league leaders: “I take every game with me, that I can get. In Salzburg I should have a lot more to do than against Austria Wien. I will prepare well for that and give everything again to be able to go on holiday with a reasonable feeling.”
