“The assemblies of SDA workers approved the national supply chain strike for Friday 20 May, concerning both direct personnel and those employed in contracted services”. This was announced by a note from the CGIL Verona which then added: “The mobilization was made necessary due to the unavailability of the company, which belongs to the Poste Italiane Group and deals with the deliveries of goods of the last mile, to discuss the platform trade union claims that ask for an upward homogenization of working conditions and the economic treatment of workers in the supply chain ».
Also according to what is indicated in the note from the CGIL Verona, the national demonstration will be held in Rome in front of the Palazzo delle Poste. The assembly of Veronese workers, it is also specified, “has nevertheless decided to remain in the area and to organize a garrison from 7 to 10 in the morning in front of the SDA headquarters in Verona, in Strada dell’Alpo 54”. The “abstention from work”, is therefore specified by the CGIL Verona, “will then continue throughout the working day”. Raffaello Fasoli, Confederal secretary CGIL Verona states: «In the last national confrontation, SDA and Fedit made proposals that were inadmissible for us. Instead, it is necessary in the opposite direction to standardize rights and go for all workers in the supply chain, starting with a transfer allowance and a performance bonus that is the same for everyone. Specific questions remain open as to how the responsibility for the payment of the damages of the sector to the vehicles in the event of accidents or of the employment guarantees in the event of a contract change ».
In conclusion, Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl and Uiltrasporti state: “SDA belongs to the Poste Italiane Group which, in the first quarter of 2022, made 495 million profits also thanks to the workers of the entire SDA supply chain, for which we ask for recognition of the efforts made, even during the pandemic and, in a period of extraordinary economic profits, the effective redistribution of the same ».
