“Classi a rete”, another year in local schools for Emma Villas Aubay Siena
Another year of “Classi a rete” has ended, the Emma Villas Aubay Siena project to bring young students from local schools closer to the world of volleyball and biancoblu society. The last stop of this season was at the Saffi elementary school. The initiative was temporarily interrupted this year in moments of major infections from Coronavirus and then resumed in the final juncture of the championship of the first Sienese team.
In November, about 200 students from the “Mattioli” and “Sabin” middle schools cheered on the Sienese team from the stands of PalaEstra in the match played against Brescia. It was in those institutes that coaches and players of Emma Villas Aubay Siena had gone in the previous days and weeks to talk with young people, to tell anecdotes about their career in the world of volleyball and also to do some dribbling with them. These are moments that are always particularly appreciated by the boys who can be seen by the players and athletes for whom they normally cheer from the stands, and at the same time they can ask them questions and take pictures.
Despite the difficulties linked to the pandemic, the “Classi a rete” project, which started in 2017, has therefore continued and will continue in the future.
“Over the years, the Emma Villas Aubay Siena company has shown great attention to local institutions and younger children – comments Claudio Doretti, project manager. – In this way volleyball is promoted and allows you to get closer and get to know this sport better. Also this year we have seen enthusiasm in the schools we went to. We saw the desire to start again, despite all the difficulties of the period. Let’s hope the next one is a year of normalization. We continue to receive many requests from local schools and we can’t wait to go back to see all these young people cheering on the stands of PalaEstra for the matches of Emma Villas Aubay Siena. Over the years some children who have approached volleyball with the ‘Classi a rete’ project have then come to play volleyball in the teams of our youth sector and this is also a great satisfaction “.
Over the years they have visited the participants of the Emma Villas Aubay Siena have schools in the area and have meetings with the youngest. And thousands have been involved in this project.
